Beula Camp

Obituary of Beula Lavina Camp

Beula Lavina Camp was born December 7, 1925, and fell asleep in death on September 7, 2023.  Beula, affectionally known as 'Biddie', was born in a small town in Pennsylvania called, “The Harbor”.  She was born to Robert Lee and Constance (nee Watts) Hallman.  Beula was number 10 of 11 children, having 3 brothers and 7 sisters, who all preceded her death.  In the early 1930's, the family moved to New Castle, Pennsylvania and Beula graduated from Union Township High School with perfect attendance!  On March 15, 1947, Beula married Ira G. Camp Jr. in New Castle, Pennsylvania and they were married for 56 wonderful years prior to his passing.  She was an avid seamstress and a fabulous cook.  Beula was well known by many for her apple dumplings, strawberry pies, and potato salad.

Beula symbolized her dedication to Jehovah by water baptism in Rochester, NY on September 16, 1961.  She and her family were privileged to have the first Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Henrietta, NY meet in the basement of their home for two years. Many can remember the delicious aroma of food cooking upstairs during the meeting which was going to be relished afterwards.  Beula enjoyed attending many International Conventions of Jehovah's Witnesses around the world with family and friends.  She also worked alongside her husband helping to build Kingdom Halls and Assembly Halls in the Rochester NY area.

Beula spent more than 20 years in the full-time ministry of Jehovah’s Witnesses, continuing through the pandemic until her illness in 2023.  Beula became the spiritual mother to many who often referred to her as Mom, Nana, Grandma, Miss Beula, Mrs. C, and many other affectionate terms.  Although we will miss her dearly, she is now resting peacefully in Jehovah's memory and awaiting her resurrection to a healthy perfect life in the earthly paradise promised by her God Jehovah.

Beula was predeceased by her husband, Ira G. Camp, Jr. and a granddaughter, Aiesha Kismett Baker.  She is survived by her four children, Judith Lorraine Baker, of Rochester, NY, Rhonda Lynn Miller, of Youngstown, OH, Ira Guy Camp, III and his wife, Lisa of West Covina, CA, and Deborah Lee Callis and her husband, David of Jackson, NJ.  She is also survived and loved by her nine grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, as well as many great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 6 Valley Road, Jackson, NJ 08527 on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 1:00 PM until her 2:00 PM Memorial Service.  Arrangements by Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township.  For those who are unable to attend the service in person, you may participate via Zoom Meeting HERE , Meeting ID: 499 958 3312 Passcode: Beula.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Jehovah’s Witness HERE or Watchtower Bible & Tract Society of New York, Inc., 900 Red Mills Road, Wallkill, NY 12589-5200 or HERE.  For information, directions or condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com
