Obituary of Raymond Fiore

Raymond Fiore, 76, of Manalapan, NJ, passed away at his home on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born and raised in Mariners Harbor, Staten Island, NY and lived there until moving to New Jersey in 1988 with his family. Ray worked as a Corrections Officer for the City of New York in Staten Island and Brooklyn until his retirement. He had also worked with his family at Fiore Bros. Oil Company as a young man.

Ray was known by his loved ones as "Pa". He will be remembered as a loving husband and wonderful father and grandfather, who took tremendous pride in the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. Ray will be greatly missed by everyone that ever had the pleasure to know him. He loved his Covered Bridge community where he had many, many friends and enjoyed playing pool and working in his garden. He also enjoyed participating in the Senior Olympics playing basketball and billiards. He was an enthusiastic lifelong Yankees fan and a talented billiards player. He always enjoyed a trip to Costco.

Ray will now be reunited with his angel daughter, Karen Ann, and his beloved parents, Fortunata and Louis. He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Lynne; daughters, Elizabeth Danella and her husband, James, of Manalapan, and Mary Ann Fiore-Kitchens and her husband, Devon, of Freehold; three grandchildren, Kristina Danella, James Danella, and Joseph Kitchens; his dear brother, Anthony Fiore; many loving cousins; and friends he gathered through his life. To know him was to love him.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, September 25, 2023 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 11:00 AM funeral service at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 26, 2023. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, 52 Tyler Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10310.
