Obituary of Steve Mar

Steve Mar, 59, of Manalapan passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was born and raised in Yangon, Burma, and had lived in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Long Island before settling in New Jersey in 2005. Steve worked for over 30 years as an Electrical Inspector for K.S. Engineering, Housing Preservation Development in New York, and Maita Associates. He was a handyman, taking pride in construction and renovation projects around his home. Steve was caring and would often go out of his way for others. He enjoyed investing and had an extensive Yankee collection.

He was predeceased by his father, Kiyn Hing Mar. Steve is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Rosemarie Mar of Manalapan; son, Samuel Mar of Manalapan; mother, Tee Chen Mar; siblings, Kin Mar and his wife, Jennifer, Kelvin Mar, Katherine Mar and her husband, Gary Lee, and Richard Mar and his wife, Theresa; many nieces and nephews; and many aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Saturday, October 7, 2023 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM. Interment will be private.
