Obituary of Phyllis R. Rullo

Phyllis R. Rullo nee Ruggiero, 78, of Howell passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at The Jewish Home in Freehold Township. She was born and raised in Jersey City and had lived in Essex County, Manalapan-Englishtown, and Sayreville before settling in Howell in 2011. Phyllis used her artistic skills in life and work as a professional hairdresser and floral designer. She was creative and kept up to date with entertainment and world events. Phyllis had a love for music and most importantly, her family.

She was predeceased by her sisters, Antoinette Ruggiero and Diane Cardella; brother-in-law, Warren Ortman; and sister-in-law, Alice Ruggiero. Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Loren Rullo-Marter and her husband, Jay of Howell; son, Joseph Rullo of Parsippany; grandchildren, Jay Joseph Marter and his wife, Amanda and Ryan Patrick Marter and his wife, Bea; two great-grandchildren, Chase Ryan and Lyla Jae; sister, Elaine Ortmann; brother, Nicholas Ruggiero; brother-in-law, Jerry Cardella; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Rose of Lima Church, 16 McLean Street, Freehold.
