Obituary of Ethel Taylor
Ethel I. Taylor, 100, of Farmingdale passed away on Friday, March 1, 2013 at Meridian Nursing & Rehabilitation, Brick. Ethel was born in Bloomfield and had lived in Hillside and New Haven, CT before settling to Farmingdale in 1929. She was a graduate of Hillside High School. Ethel was a U.S. Army Veteran during World War II serving in the Women's Army Corp. She was an accountant for Bristol Myers, Hillside for over twenty-five years retiring in the 1970's. Ethel had a passion for classic cars and was an avid golfer and ice skater. She loved attending dog shows and adored her English Cocker Spaniel, "Lincoln".
Ethel was predeceased by her brother, Melville Taylor. She is survived by a cousin, Lorraine Marlowe-Wendt, of San Diego, CA; a sister-in-law, Julia Taylor of Farmingdale; many cousins; dear friends; and her caregivers at Meridian Lighthouse.
Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM with her funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls.
