Obituary of Augustine Renna

Augustine “Guy” Renna, 68, of Howell passed away at home on Tuesday, October 17, 2023.  He was born, raised and had lived in the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn before settling here in 2018.  Guy first worked at Meat-O-Rama and Bensonhurst Meats, and then as a butcher for the Department of the Army out of Fort Hamilton, in Brooklyn, NY prior to retiring.  He was a former parishioner of St. Francis Cabrini and the Basilica of Regina Pacis in Brooklyn.  In his spare time, he loved to go fishing, go on vacation and decorate for Halloween and Christmas.  Family was the most important thing to Guy and in addition to all the beautiful memories he made, he also volunteered as a Boy Scout leader for Troop 851and 245 and coached Little League. 

Guy is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Lydia Renna; sons, Guy Renna and his wife, Tania of Staten Island, NY and twins, Gregory Renna and his wife, Alison of also of Staten Island, and Michael Renna and his wife, Julia of Howell; seven grandchildren, Ava, Elle,  Vincent, Madelyn, Gracemarie, Paige and Michael, Jr.; and brothers, John Renna and his wife, Pat of Hazlet and Anthony Renna and his wife, Susan of Tampa, FL. 

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, October 20, 2023 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 9:30 AM for the procession to his 10:30 AM Funeral Mass at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township.  Interment will be private.  For information, directions or to leave condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com
