Antonio Magistrelli

Obituary of Antonio Magistrelli

Antonio Magistrelli, 85, of Brooklyn, NY passed away with his family by his side on Thursday, November 16, 2023.  Antonio was born and raised in Gioiosa Ionica, Province of Reggio Calabria, Italy.  He immigrated to the United States in 1955 and settled in Brooklyn. Antonio retired as a manager in the shipping department for Amsco Valley Forge in 1988 after 27 years of service.  He then went to work for Fisher Brothers in New York City in the security, maintenance, and engineering departments until finally retiring in 1999.  Antonio was a cycling enthusiast, often taking five-hour rides originating from Brooklyn and going as far as West Point.  He loved the beach and could spend the day in Coney Island from sunrise to sunset.  Antonio was a collector of opera, classical and tango music.  Yet the love he had for his wife, children, and grandchildren was the most important thing to him.

Antonio was predeceased by his parents, Natale and Maria Rosa Magistrelli; brothers, Francesco and Luigi; and sister, Irene.  He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Flor Magistrelli; daughters, Liliana Gonzalez and Ana Rosa Magistrelli, both of Brooklyn; son, William A. Magistrelli and his wife, Catherine of Freehold; three grandchildren, Vincenzo, Antonio, and Alexander; and brother, Rocco Magistrelli of Kentucky.
