Obituary of Grandin Thompson

Grandin C. W. Thompson, 93, of Freehold Township passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Wedgwood Gardens, Freehold Township. He was born in the Cassville section of Jackson and was a lifelong resident of Freehold Township. Grandin was a US Army Veteran serving during WWII. He was a member of Local 2018 (now 255) Carpenters Union for 65 years, 36 years of which he served as Financial Secretary. Prior to being a Financial Secretary, Grandin was a Trustee. He was also a member of Siloam United Methodist Church as a lay leader, past President of the Administrative Board and served as President of the Board of Trustees, which he sat on since the age of 16. Grandin was predeceased by his wife, Christina P. Thompson this past January. He is survived by two sons, John O. Thompson and his wife, Theresa of Freehold Township and Glenn W. Thompson and his wife, Cynthia of Lakewood. Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, March 8, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 & 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 11:00 AM funeral service at the funeral home on Saturday, March 9, 2013 with Rev. Mary Jones officiating.
