Obituary of Barbara C. Christer

Barbara C. Christer, 86, of Freehold Township, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at her residence.   She was born in Newark and had lived in Colts Neck before settling in Freehold over 20 years ago. Forever in pursuit of remaining busy, Barbara volunteered at Applewood Estates and was very active in her community, Silvermead. She was an avid dog lover and had quite the collection of dog figurines. Throughout her life, Barbara had a passion for travel. She embarked on numerous adventures around the country and cherished every memory made along the way. Barbara was happiest when she was telling a story or reminiscing.

She is predeceased by her mother, Ann Roth and brother, Auggie Christer. Barbara is survived by her brother, Richard Christer and his wife, Elaine of Lanoka Harbor; nephew John Christer of Jackson; great niece, Nicole Krist and her husband, Terrence of Jackson; great nephew, John Christer, Jr and his wife, Erica of Texas; cousins, Patty DeFelice, Jackie DeFelice, John DeFelice and Linda Jeal.

 A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, January 12, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM with her funeral service to follow.
