Obituary of Arthur Szyr

Arthur Szyr, 47, of Freehold passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at home.  He was born and raised in Brooklyn and had lived in Woodside, Queens.  When he married his wife, Melissa, they moved to Staten Island before settling in Freehold in 2014.  Arthur took pleasure in vacationing with his family and going out with friends.  He loved going to the beach and would spend most summers in Wildwood, Cape May and Hilton Head with his family.  Arthur had a passion for sports.  He took great pride in supporting his children in their sports activities and they could always count on him to be at their events.  Above all, Arthur was a loving husband, father and son who will be missed by all who had the honor of knowing him. 

Arthur’s maternal grandmother Zofia who is predeceased will now be joined together.  He is survived by his beloved wife, Melissa and three children, Anthony, Victoria, and Matthew, along with his parents Jerzy and Jadwiga.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, January 26, 2024 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:30 am Funeral Mass on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township.  Entombment will follow in Marlboro Cemetery, Saturday, January 27, 2024.  For information, directions, or to leave condolence messages to the family, please visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com
