Obituary of Anna Rita Monti
Anna Rita Monti, 89, of Freehold passed away at CentraState Medical Center on Saturday, January 20, 2024. She was born and raised in Brooklyn and moved to Freehold in 1995. Anna worked at Maimonides Hospital in Brooklyn for Medical Genetics for over 15 years. Forever in pursuit of remaining busy, Anna volunteered the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine chosen group and was a member of the silver sneakers at Centra State. Anna and her dear friend, Sister Honora Nulty OP was influential in bringing sex education to the catholic schools in Brooklyn. She had an adventurous spirit and would look forward to fishing, ceramics and was always the life of the party. Anna was the biggest Ranger fan. She will be forever remembered for her graciousness, gentleness, and humor. She had a remarkable gift for enriching the lives of others and was a friend to many. In Anna’s memory the family requests that the next time you have a Martini you think of her and don’t forget the extra olives.
She is predeceased by her husband, John D. Monti. Anna is survived by her two sons, Edward Monti and his wife, Susan of Howell and Adam Monti of Bayville; two grandsons, Nicholas Monti and Christoper Monti.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 11:00 AM Funeral Mass on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at St. Gabriel’s Chapel 549 County Route 520, Marlboro, NJ 07746 Entombment to follow at St. Gabriels Cemetery & Mausoleum.
