Obituary of Donald Joseph Ryder
Donald Joseph “Don” Ryder, 87, of Howell, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at The Rehab Center at Wedgewood Gardens. He was born and raised in Newark and had lived in West Keansburg before settling in Howell in 1965. Don proudly served his country in the United States Marines. He retired from Asplundh in 2002. Don and his wife, Ann were fantastic bowlers playing in multiple leagues from the 1960s to the 1990s. He took solace in fishing and crabbing. Don took great pride in his home and worked endlessly in the 1970’s to build his family a pool, it was that very pool that many years of parties and traditions took place. Everyone on Aldrich Drive would look forward to his 4th of July parties. He was an exceptional host and seeing everyone happy brought him the most enjoyment. The family would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who gave Don such loving and careful attention during his stay at Wedgewood Gardens.
Don is survived by his wife, Ann Ryder of Howell; two children, Donna Ryder of Howell and Kevin Ryder and his wife, Elissa of Monroe; one granddaughter, Kayla Landis.
