Obituary of Charles David Rossi
Charles David Rossi, 76, of Freehold Township passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Chuck was born in Philadelphia, PA and was raised in the Bronx, NY. He moved to New Jersey and lived in both Howell and Freehold. Chuck had a longtime career in the automobile industry but was also a radio and television veteran. He started as a CBS copy boy while earning a Philosophy Degree at St. Francis College in Brooklyn. He went on to become a reporter for metropolitan markets in Providence, Boston and New York. He also conducted celebrity interviews, speech dynamic seminars and did voice over work. A sports fanatic, he had a special place in his heart for the NY Yankees and Rangers. Chuck, with his infectious energy and warm smile, effortlessly captivated everyone he met. His outgoing personality drew people in like a magnet. Loved by all, his presence lit up any room, making him the life of every gathering. Chuck was also an animal lover and devoted to his dog Pete. He loved old movies, reading and a great Italian meal.
Chuck was predeceased by his parents, Dominick and Rosalie Rossi; his sister, Therese Herndon; and brother-in-law, Jack Kuhnert. He is survived by his sister, Loretta Kuhnert; brother-in-law, Floyd Herndon; nieces, Kathryn Kuhnert and her husband, Garry Aumack and Jacqueline Kuhnert; nephew, Christopher Herndon and his wife, Kristen; great nephews, Jack Aumack, Carson Herndon and Brooks Herndon; cousins, Lisa Pontarelli and Terrianne McConnell; and longtime significant other, Eileen Venuto. He had many friends and was especially grateful for the staff at Beacon of Life.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:30 AM Memorial Mass on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township. Inurnment will be in Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent Road, Manalapan at the convenience of the family.
