Obituary of Francesco "Frank" Farrugia

Francesco "Frank" Farrugia, 68, of Freehold, NJ passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024. He was born and raised in Alexandria, Egypt, and settled in
Freehold. Frank was a selfless laborer with a passion for projects. He was a dedicated engineer for Local 94 until 9/11 at 7 World Trade. Additionally, Frank served as the lead facilities manager for Equinix’s New York data center portfolio. His passions included family, cooking and the beach. He was a mentor to many; sharing humor and generosity both in his career and to his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Mercedes "Midge" Farrugia; children, Francesca Cinefra and her husband, Michael, Rebecca Farrugia and her fiancé, Craig Reid, Tiffany Farrugia, and Yoruba Echeverria and his wife, Cassie; grandchildren, Lucy and Darius; siblings, Luisa McClimans and her husband, Gary and Elizabeth Richello and her husband, Michael; nieces and nephew, Michelle and husband Jaime, Eric, and Samantha and husband Peter; and feline companions, Frick and Frack.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 12:00 to 3:30 PM with a funeral service to begin at 3:30 PM. Interment will be private in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens Cemetery, US Highway 1 North, Iselin.
