Obituary of Diane Patricia Gloumakoff

Diane Patricia Gloumakoff, 85 passed away, March 2, 2024, after a very brief battle with lung cancer.  Diane was living in New Bern, NC, but that was the last of the many places she lived.

Diane was married to Nicholas for 66 years.  During that time, they lived in several different locations on Long Island, moved to upstate NY upon retirement in 1992, and then when the snow got too high they moved to North Carolina, first to Oxford and eventually to New Bern where they spent the last 5 years.

Diane was a homemaker for many years until she went back to work to support Nick in his business. She also worked for a furniture manufacturer which was her happiest time of working.  She and Nick were also able to travel extensively, visiting over 30 countries.

Diane was a member of Holy Transfiguration Orthodox Church in Morrisville, NC, but along with Nick, they were founders of at least 5 other churches over their first 50 years together.

Diane is survived by her daughter, Victoria and son-in-law, Robert Lynch of New Bern, NC, son, Gregory and daughter-in-law, Lorraine Gloumakoff of Vero Beach, Fl; grandchildren; Kristen (Chris) Falco of Oceanside, NY, Nicholas Gloumakoff of Pompano Beach, FL, Matthew Lynch of Sun Valley, ID and Kathleen (Chris) Cook of Cary, NC. She also has 2 great grandchildren, Vincent and Avery, who were the light of her life.

A visitation for Diane will be held Wednesday, March 6, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Holy Transfiguration Orthodox Church, 3491 Pleasant Grove Church Rd, Morrisville, NC 27560. A funeral service will occur Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Holy Transfiguration Orthodox Church.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 12:00 Noon graveside service on Friday, March 8, 2024 at St. Vladimir R.O.
