Obituary of Mercedes Mangino
Mercedes Mangino, 93, of Howell passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Brandywine Assisted Living, Howell. Mercedes was born in Guatemala and came to the U.S. in 1956 settling in New York City before moving to Howell in 1964. She was a member of the Brookdale Seniors. Mercedes was an avid reader, had a green thumb and loved to cook. She was a daily walker and a world traveler. But her true love was for her family as a beloved wife, great mother, loving grandma, adoring great grandmother (Oma & Mom-Mom-Mom) and a friend to all.
Mercedes was predeceased by her husband, Albert J. Mangino in 2011; a brother, Oscar; and a sister, Adelivia. She is survived by a son, Ozzie Alfaro of Howell; two daughters, Hilda Mancino and her husband, Philip of Farmingdale and Olga Evans of Highlands; six grandchildren, Patricia Kilpatrick, Lucey Bonilla, Michelle Marsh and her husband, Kirke, Deborah Mullen and her husband, John Mullen, Henry Alfaro and Danilo Bonilla; four great grandchildren, Mia Mercedes Frankland, Mathew Marsh, Eva Mullen and Kerilyn Marsh; and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Twp., on Sunday, March 24, 2013 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 11:00 AM funeral service at the funeral home on Monday, March 25, 2013. Interment will follow in Brig. Gen. William C.
