Obituary of Doris V. Murphy

Doris V. Murphy, 91, of Manalapan passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. She was born and raised in Hoboken and moved to Manalapan in 1970. Doris then lived in Barnegat from 2004 until 2023, when she returned to Manalapan. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, and trips to Atlantic City. Doris especially found joy in reading magazines.

She was predeceased by her first husband of 45 years, Frank Lawton, Sr.; and beloved dog, Freckles. Doris is survived by her beloved husband of 19 years, Dennis Murphy; her children, Susan Ramahlete and her husband, John, Melanie Sullivan and her husband, Sean, and Frank Lawton and his wife, Celia; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; step-children, Mary Bianchi and her husband, Tom, Kathee Baccaro and her husband, Bryan, and Denise Marinella and her husband, John; 8 step-grandchildren; and 8 step great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 10:30 AM Funeral Mass on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 16 McLean Street, Freehold. Interment will be private.
