Obituary of Mary Ann Martin

Mary Ann Martin, 84, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 17, 2024, surrounded by her beloved children. She passed on, worshiping her One and true Savior, Jesus Christ. Mary Ann’s life began in Jersey City, NJ, born to Steve and Pauline Antczak on November 29, 1939. She was raised with her elder sister, Stefanie, creating a relationship that would last a lifetime. Reaching her teens & attending highschool she met a young man, the late Wilbert “Bill” Golden Martin, Jr., who would win her heart over. Once completing his service in the U.S. Marines, they would be wed, beginning a new life together in September of 1959.

In 1967 Mary Ann, now a wife, homemaker and mother, and Wilbert, would move to a town called Howell, NJ with their 4 children and settle their roots in a place they would forever call their home on earth. In years to come, she would have 2 more children, a total of 6. Family meant everything to her. As time went on, she and her husband became followers of Jesus Christ, dedicating their lives to serving Him. She became a true daughter of God. Their home church and second family was found at First Assemblies of God in Freehold, NJ. Here she joyfully served in many capacities.

Mary Ann was predeceased by her youngest son Tommy Martin, her husband Wilbert G. Martin, Jr. and her second oldest son Steve Martin. She leaves behind her children Wilbert G.Martin, III and his wife Karen of Farmingdale NJ, Sandra McCoy and her husband Timothy of Plumsted NJ, Suzanne Martin McCabe and her husband Patrick of Howell NJ, and Robert Scott Martin and his wife AnnMarie of Bayville NJ: daughter-in-law Jaqueline Martin of Manchester NJ, son-in-law George McCoy of Farmingdale NJ, sister Stefanie Bradish of Lakewood NJ, and eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Mary Ann was a woman of dedication, full of compassion, taking God at His Word. She believed in order to stand strong in this life, much time was needed to be spent on her knees in prayer. Mary Ann was indeed a fervent and mighty prayer warrior! She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend. Mary Ann is already missed by all who knew and loved her. May her legacy of love, faith and hope in Jesus, live on through many generations. K.J.I.Y.H.
