Obituary of Enrico Tignini
Enrico Tignini, 75, of Freehold passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was born and raised in Palermo, Italy and came to the United States in 1969 settling in Brooklyn until 2008 when he moved here. Enrico was well known to many who had frequented his barber shop The Groom Shop in Staten Island, NY.
He was a devoted fan of the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley, and truly passionate about listening to his music and watching his films. Enrico was always happy, always smiling and great with people, especially his family who he adored. His hobbies included fishing and playing cards.
Enrico was predeceased by his parents, Galileo and Rosalia Tignini; and his sister, Mariuccia Gallo. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Frances Tignini; children, Leo Tignini and his wife, Anna, Rosalie Fields and her husband, George and Michael Gonsalves and his wife, Tara; grandchildren, Melissa, Georgie, James, Thomas, Robert, Liam, Aiden and Ronan; and siblings, Ettore, Pietro, Rosetta, Franca and Lole.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, May 19, 2024 from 1:00 to 4:30 PM with his funeral service to follow at 4:30 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 11:30 AM burial on Monday, May 20, 2024 in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery, 299 Freehold-Englishtown Road, Freehold Township.
