Obituary of Richard E. Christer

Richard E. Christer, 88, of Lanoka Harbor passed away peacefully on May 15, 2024 at Community Medical Center, Toms River.  Richard was born and raised in Newark.  Along with his parents, they left Newark and moved to the country to settle in Colts Neck.  Richard married and settled in Howell Township before moving to Lanoka Harbor recently.  He was a United State Navy Veteran serving from 1954 to 1958 during the Korean War.  Richard retired as a supervisor for Molecule Wire, Farmingdale with many years of dedicated service.  An outdoorsman, he relished his time outside hiking or fishing and he had a affection for animals.  Richard was a devoted husband, loving father, and adoring grandfather.

Richard was predeceased by his brother and sister.  He is survived by his wife, Elaine (nee Kelly) Christer; three children, Karen Cowan and her husband, Dennis, Michael Christer and his signifigante other, Tracey Wikander and Tracy Klima and her husband, Michael; and three grandchildren, Sean, Abbey, and Ben.
