Thomas Gilmartin

Obituary of Thomas A. Gilmartin

Thomas A Gilmartin Jr., 60, of Mays Landing passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 27, 2024 at Cooper University Hospital, Camden. Tom was raised in Lincroft and had lived most of his adult life in Freehold and Howell. He moved to the Mays Landing section of Hamilton Township in Atlantic County in 2021.

Tom was the owner and operator of Tom’s Tree Service for over thirty years. He had a great passion for the trees themselves and was affectionately known locally as ‘Tree Tom’. In addition to his love for trees, he appreciated all things nature: animals, sunsets, camping, and bonfires to name a few. Tom was a star water skier in his youth, he loved fishing and being anywhere near the water. He had a coin collection and relished his time on the golf course. Tom was a big New York Giants and Rangers fan and also loved playing pool on his phone. Yet nothing meant more than the love he had for his wife, children, grandcat, and sisters.

Tom was predeceased by his wife, Sandra (née Hillpot) and his parents, Thomas and Catherine Gilmartin. He is survived by his daughters, Hollyann Lacombe and her husband, Andrew, Kimberly Yanek and her husband, Austin and Shannen Gilmartin; sisters, Kathleen Gilmartin and Mary Beth Romano.
