Heithmar Family,

I had the honor of working with Dave for a number of years at Livingston High School. I was an assistant principal while he was a science teacher and I have wonderful memories of Dave working with the students and just being an amazing human who cared for everyone he came in contact with. We joked about how far he commuted to work because he lived further than I did!!!

Dave kept in touch about once a year with a greeting card to see how I was doing. What a joy to have received those notes from him.

I am a better person having known Dave. He brought joy to my life as I am sure he brought to yours.

May you all find peace during this difficult time.

Mr. Heithmar was a teacher of mine back in 2005 and memories of his energy and care still linger in my being. What a lovely wonderful person David was. It was an honor to be a student of his. I think in life it's easy to get caught up in achievement and accolade, but at the end of the day all we have is the effect we left on the people around us. David did a wonderful job of this and i'm grateful to got to experience him.
