Obituary of William J. Giris

William J. Giris, 84, of Spring Hill, FL passed away peacefully at Sturgill Hospice House in  Brooksville, FL.  Bill was born in New York City and had lived in Jackson Township, NJ before retiring to Florida in 2015.  While living in Jackson, NJ, he helped and operated Giris Flower Shop with his family.  Bill was also a parishioner of St. Mary’s R.O. Church since 1948.  Most recently he was a parishioner of St. Andrew the First-Called Orthodox Church, New Port Richey, FL.

Bill was predeceased by his parents, William and Mania Giris and his brother, Thomas Giris.  He is survived by his niece, Tommi Giris; godson, Edward Scott and his wife, Constance; goddaughter, Laura Burch; and his dear friend, Eva.

A Funeral Service will be held at St. Andrew Orthodox Church, 4633 Glissade Drive, New Port Richey, FL on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at 6:00 PM.  Arrangements in Florida were completed by Dobbies Funeral Homes & Crematory.   A Pannyhida will be held at St. Mary’s R.O. Church, 316 Cassville Road, Jackson, NJ on Sunday, July 7, 2024  at 4:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 11:00 AM Funeral Service at the Church on Monday, July 8, 2024.  Interment will follow in St. Vladimir’s R.O. Cemetery, Jackson with U.S. Navy Honors.  Arrangements in New Jersey were completed by Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township, NJ.  For those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to either St. Mary’s R.O.
