Obituary of Shamika Lorraine Bodino

Shamika Lorraine Bodino, 32, of Freehold, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at her residence. She was born in Toms River and was raised in Manchester and lived in Lakewood before settling in Freehold in 2019. Shamika proudly graduated from Ocean County College, Stockton, and Monmouth University, where she obtained her master's degree in social work. She worked as a Foster Care Support Clinician at the YMCA of Greater Monmouth County, where she touched the lives of many with her compassion and kindness. Shamika’s life was filled with love and joy. She met her husband Zac while working at Six Flags Great Adventure in the summer of 2016, and together they had a beautiful daughter, Faith. Shamika was also expecting her next child, Alycia in December, together they will be the guardian angels to many.  She had a smile that could light up a room and was known for being the life of the party. Shamika had a great compassion for others and formed beautiful friendships wherever she went. She enjoyed spending time with her family, watching the sunrises, and indulging in her hobbies such as being a huge Taylor Swift fan, playing pranks on April Fools, hiking, and scrolling on TikTok. Shamika will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched with her warmth and love.

She is predeceased by her aunt, Franny Morton. Shamika is survived by her loving husband, Zac Bodino of Freehold, daughter, Faith Bodino of Freehold; mothers, Kathleen Loughran and Marisa Silva of Bayville; siblings, Natasha, Satisha, LaRobyn, Kendra, Nathan, Josh, Corey, Jennifer, Heather, Alexis and Jonathan; niece, Mackenzie; in-laws, Cindy and James Bodino; sister in-law, Brittany Bodino; three best friends, Shakiera, Celeste and Mercedes ; faithful pup, Buddy and many extended family members, friends and colleagues.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, July 7, 2024, from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. Interment will be private.
