Obituary of Martin Leonard

Martin Leonard, 91, of Howell passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at home surrounded by family. He was born and raised in New York City and settled in Howell in 1971. Martin served in the United States Navy as a young man and went on to have a career at Pan American Airlines. Martin was always a loving and quiet source of strength to his family as well as a great example of steadfast faith,

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Kathryn Leonard; cherished grandson, Jonathan Payne; and siblings, Gerald Leonard, John Leonard, Brendan Leonard, and Ann Zoas. Martin is survived by his children, Martin Leonard, Eileen Payne and her husband, Robert, Gerard Leonard and his wife, Linda, and Kathryn Leonard; grandchildren, Robert Payne and his wife, Melissa, Thomas Leonard, and Jessica Leonard; and great grandchildren, Olivia Payne, Myles Payne, and Evelyn Payne. Martin is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM with his funeral service to begin at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Brigadier General William C. Doyle New Jersey Veteran Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Arneytown.
