Obituary of Beverly Dame

Beverly Dame, 76, of Jackson passed away at home on Tuesday, July 9, 2024.  She was born in New York City, raised in Plainfield, and lived in Westfield, Manalapan, and Clark before retiring and settling here in 2010.  Beverly was the owner of The Gift Source as well as a homemaker who created a warm and welcoming environment for all who knew her.  She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Freehold; she joined the congregation in 1998 and became an Ordained Elder.  She served as the Co-Chair of the Church’s Building Renovation Committee in 2003 and worked in various capacities on several Church committees, including holding the title of head of the Finance Committee and Personnel Committee.  Beverly’s proudest title was “Nanny.”  She adored her grandchildren and relished every moment she spent in their company. 

Beverly was predeceased by her husband, Marshall.  She is survived by her daughter, Jill Tobey and her husband, Chris of Wall; granddaughters, Lindsay Tobey and her wife, Teresa of Brick and Taylor Tobey and her fiancé, Michael Tufano of Madison; brother, Thomas Meyer and his wife, Judy of Clinton; and great grand-fur baby, Kody. 

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, July 12, 2024 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 10:00 AM Funeral Service on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at the First Presbyterian Church of Freehold, 118 West Main Street, Freehold.  Interment will follow at Old Tennent Cemetery, 454 Tennent Road, Manalapan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Beverly’s name may be made to the Church General Fund at First Presbyterian Church of Freehold by mail or online.
