Obituary of Guy R. McKelvey
Guy McKelvey, 60, of Howell Township passed away at home on Saturday, July 27th, 2024. He was born in Neptune, raised in Wall, and lived in Belmar before settling in Howell over ten years ago. Guy was a loyal employee for Mavis in Howell for several years. He proudly spent over 25 years serving in the National Guard, based out of Sea Girt. Guy had recently enjoyed woodworking and carving, his knives and could be found “tinkering” around. He loved to shoot guns and was considered quite the weapon enthusiast.
Guy was predeceased by his parents; and his stepson, Kris. He is survived by his wife, Susan of Howell; children, Alexandria, Bradley, and Matthew; granddaughter, Shaylyn; stepdaughter, Tara Jones and her husband, Jarrad; step-grandchildren, Oliver and Daphne; siblings, Tammy Gannon and her husband Steve Katz, Billy McKelvey, Vickie Coffey, and Robin Dangler; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
There will be a public military cremation ceremony service for Guy at Brigadier General William C. Doyle New Jersey Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Arneytown, NJ 08562 at 10:30 AM Friday, August 9, 2024. You need to be at the gate waiting by 10:15 AM, they meet everyone at the gate and we follow them in. All arrangements are under the direction of the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township.
