Obituary of William R. Costello

William Robert Costello, 84, of Howell Township passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 7, 2024.  Bill was born in Belview Hospital in New York City.  He moved to Howell Township in 1977.  Bill owned and operated Mile Square Autobody in Jersey City.  He then owned and operated I Am Auto, Howell for over forty years.  Bill also owned, bred and raced harness horses for thirty years, especially his favorite, ICommandMySpirit.  He always played the lottery, hoping one day to hit the big one.

Bill was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Cecelia Costello and his son, William Robert Costello, II.  He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Costello; daughter, Sharon Foster; three grandsons, Coletrane, Cash, and Hawke; and three sisters, Mary Yorkiewicz, Dolores Munno and Rosiland Costello; and many nieces and nephews. 

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 from 3:00 to 6:30 PM with his funeral service to follow at 6:30 PM.  Interment will be private.  For those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or HERE.  For information, directions or condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com.
