Obituary of Mary Jean Johnson
Mary Jean Johnson, 76, of Howell passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. She was born and raised in Jersey City, where she resided before settling here in 1978. Mary Jean worked as a real estate agent throughout her life and most recently worked for FirstService Residential as a manager at the company’s Manchester property. A true woman of faith, she was a parishioner at the Church of St. Veronica and served as a reader, Eucharistic Minister and in their prayer group. Mary Jean made several trips throughout Europe with friends and with fellow St. Veronica parishioners on church pilgrimages. In addition to travel, she also enjoyed ceramics and other creative pursuits. Mary Jean was a former member of the Howell Parent-Teacher Association and was passionate about her work with Meals on Wheels. Her greatest love was her family; she treasured her husband, children, and grandchildren and was overjoyed to be a wife, mother, and “Nani.” All who knew and loved Mary Jean will remember her kindness and her giving spirit.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Gerald “Jerry” Johnson; sons, Rudy Bastin, Richard Bastin, and Robby Johnson of Howell; grandchildren, Christopher Joseph Bastin and Shianne Johnson; brother, Joseph Arnold and his wife, Martha; brother-in-law, Ben Cala; and daughter-in-law, Tina Fontanez
