Ann Wecksler

Obituary of Ann Citarelli Wecksler

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Ann (Citarelli) Wecksler, our beloved mother, wife, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother.  Born in 1936 in Orange, NJ, Ann was raised along with her two sisters by her parents, Lena and Silvio Citarelli in Montclair, NJ.  Ann would later move to Lakewood, NJ in the 1950’s to raise her own family there.  Upon the untimely passing of her first husband, Eddie Lampert, Ann eventually settled in her home of more than 50 years with her husband, Seymour Wecksler, in Freehold Township, NJ.

Ann worked at Wayne Stevens Shoe Store for more than 20 years, and more recently volunteered at West Freehold School assisting her granddaughter’s art class.  She was a sports fan and loved to celebrate every family occasion.  She was a proud, loyal, and fierce supporter of all her kids and grandchildren’s sporting events, recitals, and activities, and loved her family immensely.  Ann was the most loving, kind and supportive woman and will be sorely missed by those who knew her.

Ann was predeceased by her parents, Lena (Senzale) and Silvio Citarelli; and husbands, Eddie Lampert and Seymour Wecksler.  She is survived by her son, Brian Wecksler and his wife, Susan; daughter, Dana Vaccaro and her husband, John; son, Gary Wecksler and his wife, Alla; eight grandchildren, Samantha, Paige, Nicholas, Erica, Max, Jake, Flora, and Zane; five great grandchildren, Brecken, Maisie, Bodhi, Sunny and Max; sisters, Leona DePasquale and Lois Bonito and her husband, Sam; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.  Relatives and close friends are invited to attend her 11:00 AM graveside service on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Congregation Agudath Achim Cemetery, Route 33, Freehold Township. For those who desire, donations in memory of Ann may be made to the Ralph Politi, Jr.  Memorial Foundation, c/o Rosemarie Politi, 46 Callahan Street, East Hanover, NJ 07936.  For information, directions, or condolence messages, please visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com.
