Obituary of Mark Henry Bondo
Mark H. Bondo, 82, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2024 during his hospice stay at home. He was born April 3, 1942 in Madison, Wisconsin to his parents Ervin Franklin Bondo and Palma K. Bondo. Mark was a graduate of Dana College in Blair, Nebraska and received his master’s degree in mathematics at the University of Idaho. Lieutenant Colonel Bondo served first as an active-duty pilot in the United States Air Force and later as a member of the New Jersey Air National Guard for 20 years. His love of flying continued through his duties as a Senior Pilot for Jet Aviation, where he flew executives throughout the world. Mark was a long-standing member of the Hope Lutheran Church in Freehold, New Jersey. He will be missed by his many friends and colleagues.
His wife, Erika predeceased him in February 2018. He is survived by his brother, Bruce Ervin Bondo, of Columbia, SC; three nephews, Charles F. Bondo, Bruce Edward Bondo and Mark A. Bondo; and four grandnephews, Christopher, Henry, Cooper and Owen.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 11:00 AM Memorial Service at Hope Lutheran Church, 211 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, October 3, 2024. Inurnment will be next to his wife, Erika, following at 2:30 PM in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle New Jersey Veterans Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Arneytown.
