Obituary of Edward Mowczan

Edward Mowczan, 72, of Freehold Township passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.  He was born in Staten Island and raised in Carteret before settling in Freehold in 1979. Edward worked as a purchasing agent for FMC/ICL.  Throughout his life, Edward was a true family man, always putting his loved ones first. He enjoyed taking trips to Colorado and spending time with his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his selflessness, his generosity, and his unwavering love for his family and friends.

Edward is predeceased by his wife, Joanne Mowczan; parents, Edward and Marilyn Mowczan; and brother, Richard Mowczan.  He is survived by his two daughters, Candace Musawwir and her husband, Malik of Highlands Ranch, CO and Chrisann McAllister and her husband, Michael of Brick; four grandchildren, Myles, Mia, Kayleigh and Kelsey; and brothers, James Mowczan and his wife, Sue and Fred Mowczan and his wife, Christine. 

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, August 30, 2024 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:30 AM Funeral Mass on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 16 McLean Street, Freehold.  Interment will follow in Saint Gertrude’s Cemetery & Mausoleum, 53 Inman Avenue, Colonia, NJ 07067.
