Obituary of Sean C. Young

It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that we announce the untimely passing of Sean Young. His loss is profoundly felt by all who knew him.

Sean was born on September 17, 1967 in Point Pleasant to Carol and John Young and spent his childhood growing up in Lakewood, New Jersey.

Sean initially worked as a Welder/Pipefitter for Sylvan and was a member of the Local 9 Union, following in his father’s footsteps until 2010. He then pivoted to pursue a successful career in IT, where he served as a Senior Network Communications Engineer for 15 years at ConnX/AI in Plainsboro, NJ.

Sean resided in Howell with his wife, Sandra and was a proud Giants and NASCAR fan. He enjoyed spending time in his garage, working on various projects, and feeding his stray cats and raccoons.  He also adored his cats and dogs, especially Puppy Cat.

Sean passed away peacefully at home in his sleep on Tuesday, August 27, 2024. He is predeceased by his mother, Carol Kirwan-Young, and leaves behind his father, John Young; his wife, Sandra Young; his children, Stephanie Young, Sean Young, Michael Ferguson, and Sarah Ferguson; his daughter-in-law, Jenna Ferguson; and his three grandchildren, Rivi, Zivah, and Caleb. He is also survived by his brother, Jack Warfel; his sister, Sheree Young-Ghosh; his brother-in-law, Indrajit Ghosh; nephews, Noah and Naveen; niece, Jennifer Arnold. 

Sean was a kind, gentle, and loyal soul who was always willing to lend a helping hand. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Family, friends, colleagues and all who knew him are invited to reminisce and celebrate the life of Sean Young at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Saturday, August 31, 2024 from 12:00 to 4:00 PM, with a prayer service at 1:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Sean’s name may be made to the Monmouth County SPCA, 260 Wall Street, Eatontown, NJ  07724 or HERE .
