Obituary of Dorothy E. Olasin

Dorothy E. Olasin, 99, of Freehold passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at Monmouth Crossing, Freehold. She was born and raised in Bellville and had lived in Springfield before settling in Freehold in 1975.  Dorothy received her bachelor’s degree from Montclair State Teachers College and also studied graduate work at Columbia University.   She worked as a bacteriologist at Givaudan (a fragrance and flavor company), where she met husband.  Dorothy was a true homemaker, dedicating her life to her home and family. She thoroughly enjoyed reading, especially the National Geographic Magazine, and had a green thumb, caring for African Violets, her favorite indoor plant.

She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel Olasin; and brother, George Reif. Dorothy is survived by her son, Daniel G. Olasin and his wife, Regina of Monmouth Hills; and daughter, Deborah Fontaine and her husband, Larry of San Diego.
