Obituary of Helen Ferrara
Helen Ferrara, 92, of Howell Township passed at home on Monday, April 15, 2013. Helen was born and raised in Manhattan and had lived in Staten Island before moving to Howell in 1997. She was a seamstress for Bargain Paper Bag Company where she made umbrella bags, though she was mainly a homemaker. Helen was excellent at making Christmas stockings, ornaments, tree skirts, table runners and Barbie doll clothing. She was also known for her mouth-watering eggplant parmesan.
Helen was predeceased by her husband, Carmine Ferrara in 1986; her grandson, Joseph Santo in 2009; three brothers, Danny Fusaro, Paul Fusaro and Jerry Fusaro; and two sisters, Angie Famularo and Mary Giannotti. She is survived by a son, Frank Ferrara and his wife, Dorina of Manalapan; a daughter, Agnes Santo of Manalapan; a grandson, Gregory Santo of Los Angeles; a sister, Sue Marro of Staten Island; and a brother, James Fusaro of Long Island.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 & 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home at 9:00 AM on Thursday, April 18, 2013 for the procession to St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township for her 10:00 AM Funeral Mass.
