Obituary of Bernardino A. Lota
Bernardino A. Lota, 77, of Howell passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at home. Mr. Lota was born Tobacco Albay, Philippines. Along with his wife, they came to the United States in 1995 settling in Marlboro and then moved to Howell. Mr. Lota was in the payables department at CCC, Freehold until his retirement. Prior to that, he was the co-owner, with his brother, Divino, of AML Marine Corporation in the Philippines. While in the Philippines, Mr. Lota reveled at the game of basketball and almost made it to the Pro’s. His love of sport led him to be a devoted NY Yankee fan. Mr. Lota enjoyed his time spent at the beach and especially his ice cream after. He enjoyed cooking especially for other people. Yet his faith is what lead him through his life. Mr. Lota was a devout catholic. He was a parishioner of the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine and a member of the Mary Queen of Peace Prayer Group.
Mr. Lota was predeceased by his parents, Aquilino and Caridad Lota and his brother, Efren . He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Cynthia (nee Dela Fuente) Lota; three children, Arlene Vito, Donnah Araga and her husband, Ferdinand, and Erwin Lota and his wife, Joanne; five grandchildren, Angelica, Alyssa, Alaina, Francis, and Adrienne; two brothers, Divino and Jesus; four sisters, Fe, Gilda, Imelda & Juliana; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, October 6, 2024 from 11:00 am to 3:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Monday, October 7, 2024 at 9:30 AM for the procession to his 10:30 AM Funeral Mass at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township, NJ.
