Obituary of David A. Christie, Sr.

David A. Christie, Sr., 91, of Venice, Florida passed away on September 30, 2024 at home.  David was born in Elizabeth and was raised in Keyport.  He had lived in Shrewsbury, Aberdeen, Holmdel, Millstone, Freehold and Manasquan before settling in Venice, FL in 2020.  David was a United States Navy Veteran serving from 1951 to 1955 during the Korean War.  He was the CEO of Chris Industries (a paints and coating manufacturing company) for over fifty years.  David had a passion for boating, owning several boats throughout the years and was also a member of the Yacht Club at Lake Wallenpaupack in Pennsylvania.  He relished his time going on big vacations and traveling to Hawaii, Europe, Bermuda, Scotland, Florida and Maine. 

David was predeceased by his wife, Bertha in 2003; a son, Mark in 2020; and a daughter-in-law, Donna this year.  He is survived by his children, David Christie, Jr. and Susan Lally and her husband Peter; grandchildren, Andrew Christie, Thomas Lally, Alexandra Christie, and Kristen Lally. 

All arrangements were private by Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township.  Interment was in Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent, NJ.   For those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Tunnel To Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306.
