Obituary of Gerald J. Kazlauskas
Gerald J. “Jerry” Kazlauskas, 78, of Freehold passed away suddenly at Jersey Shore University Medical Center on Sunday, October 20, 2024. Born and raised in Detroit Michigan he served in the United States Army stationed at Fort Monmouth. He lived in Neptune City and Tinton Falls before settling in Freehold 20 years ago. Jerry dedicated much of his life to his career in sales, working for Bankers Life before eventually becoming self-employed in insurance sales. He was passionate about advising the elderly on their Medicare options, always putting their needs first and ensuring they were well taken care of. Aside from his work, Jerry had a deep love for hockey, which he passed down to his son and grandsons. He enjoyed watching Rutgers Football, the Devils, and the Yankees. In his free time, he could always be found at a concert, enjoying the music and socializing with friends and family. Jerry was known for being the life of the party, always bringing laughter and joy wherever he went. He had a vibrant social life and cherished the time spent with his wife Shirley, whom he adored. Jerry was affectionately known as "Pop-Pop" to his grandchildren and was a beloved friend, father, and husband.
He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Mary Kazlauskas; brother, Joseph Kazlauskas. Jerry is survived by his wife, Shirley Kazlauskas; three children, Colleen Lindquist and her husband, Jeff of Brick, Heather Rudolph and her husband, Jamie of Winter Springs, Fl and Christopher Kazlauskas and his wife, Carly of Denville; six grandchildren, Tommy, Shannon, Abigail, Sarah, James and Andrew; sister, Jean Fuhr and her husband, Rich.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township, on Thursday, October 24 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Interment is private.
