Condolences
So many of us Garwood kids are heartbroken upon hearing of Scott's passing. If you were as cool & as cute as Scott, you could easily get away with not being so kind. But that last part wasn't Scott. At all. He was one of the kindest kids we all grew up with. During college he was headed down to NC to play soccer & he got in touch w/my sister Donna. She & I went to see him play in Raleigh. It was so sweet of him to even reach out & so great to catch up with our hometown pal. And during college when I spent summers living w/my grandmother on Hazel, he & I would run into each other occassionally & we'd always stop to catch-up on life for a good 10 minutes or so. One day I remember driving down Pine, and I saw him outside, pulled over and we just caught up on "life" for a good 45 minutes. He was a caring friend to all, just like his adored little sister Jenny, his hard-working Dad and his super sweet Mom, who I saw every day in grammar school at lunchtime. I remember Mrs. H sweetly setting aside two milks for me every day because she just knew I loved milk (still do). Garwood was such a special place to grow up, and the Holzapfel family was such a loving part of that childhood memory for so many of us. Please know that Scott left his mark on this world, and will likely make many of us remember something so simple, yet so rare: kindness really is everything. My love to you all. Scott was such a great guy , growing up with him just around the corner . He was so athletic , we played baseball at the little league and soccer in school. He always smiled and was so respectful to others . His demeanor was amazing . He earned the nickname “The Fonz “ because he was as cool! His whole family are very nice . Always great people . I can’t imagine what they’re going through . I can’t figure out why these things happen to people . It’s too sad and not fair . I haven’t seen you Scotty in long time , and was so sad to hear about this and had no idea you been going through this . You will always be the Fonz and irreplaceable, RIP Scotty . Love you and one day we will meet again
I worked in the Same Company as Scott for the past 8 years. He was always a motivated and hard worker from my understanding. I had some conversations with him in passing and he was always very pleasant and bright. I want to send my deepest condolences to his family.
Thanks,
