Obituary of Sigmond Kovacs
Sigmond Kovacs, 86, of Freehold passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 28, 2024 at Wedgwood Gardens. Ziggy was born in Hungary. He came to the United States in 1957 settling in New Jersey. Ziggy lived in Perth Amboy, Middletown, and South Brunswick before moving to Freehold in 2012. He retired from Raritan Copper Works, Peth Amboy as a tool and die maker. He enjoyed trips to Atlantic City, but his real love was for the sport of soccer.
Ziggy was predeceased by his wife, Susan Kovacs; a daughter, Susan Marrone; a brother; and a sister. He is survived by his granddaughter, Gianna Tornetta and her husband, Brandon; a sister, Helen Szotak; son-in-law, Glen Marrone and his girlfriend, Christine Mellas.
Relatives and friend are invited to attend his 10:30 Funeral Mass at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 George Road, Freehold Township on Wednesday, December 4, 2024.
