Dear Lucy and Family

Joanne and I were saddened to hear of Elio’s passing. He was a good friend to me and would always greet me with a smile and kind word. He was truly one of a kind. Elio and I always enjoyed our tennis matches at Cross Court and afterwards would enjoy talking and joking about anything. He was a pleasure to be with and I will miss him greatly. Lucy, take care and know we will always remember Elio.

Elio led an amazing life, if not for him leading his cousin my Nonno Umberto Vecchiarelli to Poughkeepsie my entire family wouldn’t even exist. “the singing Italian” will never be forgotten by his long list of loved ones, friends, professional acquaintances and more. I’ll never forget his stories of their travels from Italy to Venezuela to the US and how he cherished time during his life with my Nonno - even one story where Elio bought a brand new motorized scooter only to have it busted up by my Nonno on his very first try riding it.

ELIO was a wonderful man that made all of us better people. His kindness and gentle ways and sense of humor was contagious.he was very proud of his family and all his accomplishments over the years. He would never hesitate to give positive encouragement to all. One of his favorite actors kathrine bell was a source of a lot of teasing .he enjoyed his family and all they did together.it was a privilege and honor. To be part of that family. He was truly loved by all who knew him. Love Lee
