Obituary of Josephine Dunham

Josephine "Luna" Dunham, 85, of Freehold passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Jersey Shore University of Medical Center, Neptune. Luna was born, raised and lived in Staten Island and Toms River before moving to Freehold in 2008. She retired in the late 1980s as the owner of Luna's Realty in Bay Terrace, Staten Island. Luna treasured her vino and her adventures to Atlantic City. She had a passion for life but her love was for her family. Luna was predeceased by her husband, Henry B. Dunham; a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Susan Miraldi; a grandson, Brian Kelly; and three brothers, Mario, Anthony and John Abato. She is survived by three daughters, Rita Kelly and her husband, Brian of Colts Neck; Lori Brenneck and her husband, Kevin of Staten Island; and Kathy Alessi and her husband, Peter of Freehold; eleven grandchildren, Marissa La Placa and her husband, Bryan, John Miraldi and his wife, Mary, Jamie Kelly, Thomas Brenneck and his fiancé, Alex, Christopher Brenneck and his wife, Lily, Megan Brenneck, Michael Brenneck, Vincent Alessi, Avery Alessi, John Alessi and Luke Alessi; and five great grandchildren, Thomas, Jake, Sara, Uriah, James and two more on the way. Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, May 9, 2013 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 11:00 AM funeral service on Friday, May 10, 2013 at Hope Lutheran Church, 211 Elton-Adelphia Road, Freehold Township with the Rev. Dr. Patricia Medley, Officiating . Interment is private.
