Obituary of Lawrence Rafaniello
Lawrence J. "Larry" Rafaniello, 90, of Jackson passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at CentraState Medical Center. Larry was born and raised in Newark and had lived in Belleville before settling to Jackson in 1994. Larry was a U.S. Army P.O.W. Veteran during World War II in European Theater serving in the 7th Armored Division, 3rd Army as a tank ammunition handler. He was an electronics engineer for Whittaker Corp., Hillside retiring in 1971. Prior to that, Larry worked for TRW Corp., Fairfield. He was a member of the local Radio Club. Larry had a passion for fixing and tinkering with old electronics but his true love was for his family.
Larry was predeceased by his wife, Angelarose B. "Rosebud" Rafaniello; a brother, Joseph Rafaniello; and a sister, Geraldine Grafstein. He is survived by his daughter, Linda DiUbaldi and her husband, John of Jackson; two grandsons, John DiUbaldi and his wife, Vincenza of Jackson and Anthony DiUbaldi and his wife, Donna of Jackson; five great grandchildren, Gianluca, Daniella, Vincenzo, Daniel, and Emma; a sister, Carmella Napolitano of Hackensack; and his faithful canine companion, Ginger.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, May 24, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 8:30 AM for the procession to St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Road, Jackson for his 9:30 AM Funeral Mass. Entombment to follow in Holmdel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Holmdel.
