Obituary of Joseph Bonaventura
Joseph S. Bonaventura, 75, of Manalapan passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2011 at home surrounded by his family. Joseph was born in Brooklyn, NY and had lived in Staten Island, North Carolina, and Marlboro, NJ until settling to Manalapan in 2007. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran serving in Korea. Joseph retired in 1993 as a manager for Verizon (formerly NYNEX), Manhattan, NY after 38 years of service.
He was predeceased by his sister, Jeanie Jansen. Joseph is survived by his wife of 47 years, Josephine D'Amico Bonaventura; a son, Salvatore Bonaventura and his wife, Kim of the Pleasant Plains section of Staten Island, NY; a daughter, Rosemary Jedlowski and her husband, Raymond of Brick, NJ; five grandchildren, Marc Bonaventura, Amber Bonaventura, Raymond Jedlowski, Jr., Michael Jedlowski, and Nicholas Jedlowski; two sisters, Sarah Maile and her husband, Leonard of West Babylon, NY and Pauline Bonaventura of Brooklyn, NY; a brother-in-law, James Jansen of Seattle, WA; and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township, NJ on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and Wednesday, December 14, 2011 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Rite of Committal at the funeral home on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at 9:00 AM followed by his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township, NJ.
