Obituary of Valentine Prata

Valentine A. "Val" Prata, 98, of Freehold Township passed away at home on Tuesday, September 10, 2013. He was born in Santa Comba Dao, Portugal and moved to the United States in 1942. Val lived in Jersey City and Bayonne before moving to Freehold Township in 1996. He was in Building Maintenance for Trust Company, Jersey City. Val was predeceased by his wife, Adelaide Prata, his brothers and sisters; and his son-in-law, James O'Halloran. He is survived by two daughters, Maria Lourdes Sena and her husband, James, of Freehold Township and Celeste O'Halloran, also of Freehold Township; four grandchildren, Jeanine Mittenzwei and her husband, Chris, Kimberly O'Malley and her husband Kevin, Michael J. O'Halloran and his wife, Heather and Davin O'Halloran and his wife, Amanda; and four great grandchildren, Nicholas, Jake, Luke and Chase. Visitation will be held at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road, (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, September 12, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends may gather at the funeral home on Friday, September 13, 2013 at 9:00 AM for the procession to his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township.
