Obituary of James Capper

JAMES E. CAPPER JR., 85, of HOWELL, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. Mr. Capper was born in Port Richmond, Staten Island, N.Y. and had lived in Lakewood before moving to Howell in 1971. He was currently a warranty adjuster for Pine Belt Chevrolet (formerly George Hughes Chevrolet), Freehold, working there for the past 41 years. Surviving are his wife, Philomena Capper; two sons, Frederick J. Capper of Brick, and Daniel P. Capper of Howell; a brother, Christopher Capper of Sun City, Ariz.; a sister, Catherine Capper of Port Richmond, Staten Island, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandson. Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township. Family and friends may gather at 7:45 a.m. Saturday for the Rite of Committal followed by his 9 a.m. Funeral Mass at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1139 E. County Line Road, Lakewood.
