Obituary of Frank Young
FRANK H. YOUNG, 73, of NEPTUNE, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Frank H. Young was born Sept. 12, 1934 in Newark. He was an avid outdoorsman and photographer, loved hunting, fishing, antique cars, and collected cameras. He had a wonderful sense of humor and he spent considerable time lovingly restoring cars. Frank worked as a tool and die maker and as a custom craftsman remodeling homes. He loved the Lord and was an active member of the Collingwood Park Seventh-day Adventist Church, Neptune. Frank heroically fought and survived Parkinson's Disease for many years, even undergoing brain surgery to relieve the debilitating symptoms of the disease. After being diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma in late 2007, Frank succumbed to the disease at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, on Feb. 5, 2008. Frank was loved and will be deeply missed. May he rest in Jesus until He comes to take him home. Frank was predeceased by his son, Frank Young; his sister, Dolores Vecchiarelli; and his partner, Theresa Bulkowski. He is survived by his daughter, Heidi L. Young of Norfolk, Va.; his sister, Evelyn G. Saveikis of Hebron, Md.; his stepdaughter, Adele Jones of Lakewood; his grandchildren, Steven Young and Heather Young of Norfolk, Va.; and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township. Friends and relatives are invited to attend his funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment to follow in Fairmont Cemetery, Newark.
