Obituary of Holger Berthelsen

Holger Peter Berthelsen, Jr., 90, of Iselin passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Wedgewood Gardens Care Center, Freehold Township. He was born in Bloomfield, and had lived in Union County before moving to Iselin in 1954. Mr. Berthelsen was a U.S. Army Air Corps Veteran serving during World War II. After serving his country, he worked as a Production Planner for The Singer Company, Elizabeth for 31 years retiring in 1982. Mr. Berthelsen is survived by his wife, Katherine Berthelsen of Iselin; his son, John Berthelsen of Forked River; four daughters, Susan Ward of Bensalem, PA., Lynn Gildner of East Brunswick, Mary Jane Sporn on Howell, and Claire Cuzzi of Toms River; and eleven grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, October 17, 2013 from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM followed by his 9:30 AM Funeral Mass on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Church of St. Veronica, 4215 Route 9 North, Howell Township.
