Obituary of Emanuel Hodson
Emanuel "Manny" Hodson, Jr. of Freehold Township passed away at home on Tuesday, October 15, 2013. Manny was born in Trenton, raised in Newark and had lived in Sayreville and Old Bridge before moving to Freehold Township in 1995. He was a US Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. Manny was a maintenance mechanic at Revlon, Edison and prior to that he worked at Lee Filters, Edison. He was active at the Freehold Township Senior Center. Manny enjoyed playing pinochle and was an avid poker player. Most of all he loved his time in North Port, Florida.
He was predeceased by his wife, Katherine E. Hodson in 1976 and a brother, Kenneth Hodson in 1998. Manny is survived by a son, Emanuel "Butch" Hodson, III and his wife, Jeanene of Barnegat; a daughter, Katherine Hodson of Freehold Township and her fiancé, Alden Jolly of Old Bridge; two grandchildren, Kimberly Rule and her husband, William of Barnegat and Brian Hodson of San Diego; two great grandchildren, Gavin Rule and Evan Rule; a brother, Robert Hodson and his wife, Bonnie of Florida; a sister-in-law, Dorothy and Richard Sileo of Kenilworth and their daughter, Rosanne Miller and her family; and his companion, Maureen Jarvis and her family of Maryland.
Visitation will be held at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Saturday, October 19, 2013 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM with his funeral service at 11:00 AM with Rev.
