Obituary of Robert Murphy

Robert B. "Bob" Murphy, Sr., 80, of Farmingdale passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at Brandywine Senior Living at Colts Neck. Robert was born in Neptune and was a lifelong resident of Farmingdale. He retired from Exxon Oil, Linden as a Delivery Supervisor in 1985. Bob an avid Nascar and Dallas Cowboy fan was an exempt member of the Farmingdale Fire Company and a member of the 1st United Methodist Church of Farmingdale for over 50 years and US Navy Veteran having served his country during the Korean War. Robert was predeceased by his wife, Rose M. Murphy in 2003. He is survived by a son, Robert B. Murphy, Jr. and his wife, JoAnn of Farmingdale; a daughter, Barbara A. MacKenzie of Farmingdale; four grandchildren, Stacey Murphy, Colleen Foran, Rob Murphy III and Michael MacKenzie; three great grandchildren, Paul Lampe, Mackenzie Foran and Michael Foran. Friends and relatives are invited to attend his funeral service on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township with Rev. George N. Zigich officiating. Interment in Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold Township. Visiting at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 & 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
